wow, that definitely works on chrome! It doesn't on Firefox for me, though (70.0.1 on Mac). So, you know, it's perfectly in line with all of CSS :D
This doesn't work in Firefox since we use 32 bit floats for CSS values.
And then the results differ on i386 (but not amd64!) and m68k due to them using 80-bit precision float, except qemu-user-m68k which fails (maybe failed) at FPU emulation… … and on the VAX, where floats are SOL anyway.
if you're on a modern web browser on VAX then you should expect all the problems you get
