We (
@ProjAlloy) give grants to people who should be in the room (or, at the conference) anyway, and just delete cost from being any factor or concern.Show this thread -
Acknowledgement of the
@ProjAlloy grant is up to the recipient. Unless you choose to share the info, nobody knows that we were involved. We do give pins to our grantees to wear if they care to.Show this thread -
On the other hand, because
@ProjAlloy is largely supported by the tech industry itself — by companies (2018 sponsors! https://www.projectalloy.org/sponsors.html ) & individual contributions (50% of the budget!!) We love it when donors are loud as heck about supporting us, display our stickers etc.Show this thread -

@ProjAlloy that brings together all manner of folks that make tech look more like home to me, and -honestly- which isn't focused on a particular identity demographic. Mutual aid is our program.Show this thread -
Last year, over 120 people attended
@strangeloop_stl. We have reviewed applications and are thrilled about the next class going to SL this year as well. We are also looking forward to adding sponsors, conferences, and growing to do even more.
