The may be the first major lightning network outage event; I'm frankly surprised it took this long. Testament to good engineering.
Looks like a bug in the btcd library that's used in lnd. Heads up to all lnd node operators: you'll likely need to update your node to fix this.

At the moment it's unclear what lnd node setups are affected by this. If you want to check your node, run the command "lncli getinfo" and if "synced_to_chain" is false then your node is likely affected.

Correct, it appears that some nodes crashed *if* they were restarted. Affected nodes continued to route payments and download blocks aside from the one that broke things, so the chain sync was false.
Everyone should update ASAP!
