I'm so sick of that shit. Now I even get copyright claims for my own tracks on YouTube. https://youtu.be/k4cOoXtF4vY

Just to clarify what happend. I see two problems: Not crediting and a false positive from Youtube Content ID. a) City of Hip-hop used my beat and rapped over it. That's ok. b) They didn't credit. Kinda illegal.

c)
@myhoodrecordzz uploaded via@freshtunes to the stores and monetized the track via Youtube Content ID. That would be ok, if they credited. d)@TeamYouTube Content ID identified my original beat as property of City of Hip-Hop's track and sent me a claim. That sucks too.2 replies 0 retweets 2 likesShow this thread -

Actually the Content ID system is so powerful that it recognized your beat, tempo-changed and with a vocal-overlay. If you would have been first to have put your track into the system they would've been claimed by you instead. YouTube needs a way for artists to prove ownership.

You're right. I didn't put this track into Content ID, because it's also free to monetize. Now all others who used it correct on YouTube, also get a claim. It's a Content ID design failure.

Yep, the old big problem. That and a web full of "clever entrepreneurs" who don't care about copyrights and licensing is what made me release new works NC only and without free distribution at the end.
#fairuse is a fairytale imho.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like
@creativecommons is broken I'll switch to All rights reserved, tolerate Youtube use and feed it into Content ID.
