Luna does get burned 1:1 with UST minted - all you need to do is to try to do it yourself
Go to the "swap" section of Terra station, mint 100 ust, and check out supply changes on the dashboard section for Luna
But of course he didn't try it

Sorry, but this is just some snippet of code that says “burn” but it doesn’t show what goes in behind the scenes.
I was hoping for onchain txns so that I can verify the claims from both ends. Maybe I’ll check it myself over the weekend some time

Good ser I tried to do it in station.
But my attempted LUNA burn magically turned into a Terra Swap Limit Order.
I tried to find documentation to burn LUNA for UST, the closest thing I found was the Market Swap feature, so I tried that.

So is there any way to make it do what I want? To make a burn so I can see the tx outcome?
Or does someone out here have the burn contract address?

You can toggle to the "market" option on the top above the swap page
You should be able to see in my screenshot that I already have it set to “Market”.
It still defaulted to a swap tx, on both of my attempts.
Not sure if there’s some other option I’m missing.

You need to set the toggle AFTER you input parameters
The adjustment happens after the swap is simulated
