This is why a decentralized money fully controlled by its users is so valuable. $UST will defeat CBDCs.

NYT publishes an op-ed making the case for a CBDC. Some benefits include 1) power to shrink people’s balances if they don’t spend enough fast enough 2) full surveillance to prevent illegal activity 3) lower transactions costs nytimes.com/2021/07/22/opi

Hi I admire the vision and I would prefer UST above CBDCs. However, governments will regulate the 'shit' out of stablecoins. Probably not all but a lot. For example, how does $UST fit in with the FED recent paper about stablecoins? What does this mean for ust?

If you have a bank account in the USA and you don't access the account for 3 years, the bank has the right to take your money and send it to the state as unclaimed property. They did this to my 5 y/o nephew's savings. Nuts, huh? Soon they can take your money directly, CBDC.

I largely support the sentiment of your argument here and am a big fan of your work, but with all due respect, we don't take down fiat with a stable coin pegged to the reserve currency of the world.
