I don't get #openlibra. What makes libra interesting is its massive reachable user base. What's the point of forking the codebase? It won't be able to compete wrt usership.

Does it have to compete? Sounds like the idea is to peg the value and extend the utility into a censorship resistant open network so that the private corporate bridge to users can reach the open decentralized web, and vice versa...or maybe I missed something...

To rephrase: I don't see why openlibra will be widely used and adopted. In my mind, projects without usership are not worth doing.

Itβs on the premise that Libra wins. Developers wonβt be able to freely deploy into βtheirβ network.
An interoperable, network without a controlling body might capture some of the heat.

If you give developers the choice between a self-regulated network with 2B users and an unregulated network with 1k users, most will choose the former.

open/decentralized networks compete with open/decentralized networks, while closed/centralized networks compete with closed/centralized networks.

Thats literally the most depressing thing I've heard this year.
