Home electrification put to the test today in Seattle, below 20 degrees F outside. So far, so good! 2.5-ton heat pump for an old (1907) house, 1,500 sq. ft. No supplemental heat yet engaged (I have resistance coils for backup...)

The world's biggest carbon capture facility sequesters 4,000 tons of CO2 per year. That's about half of Bill Gates' annual emissions. Cutting the purchasing power of billionaires would be more effective than the finest carbon capture technology.

Very useful explainer on the role of tree planting to meet GHG emission reduction goals in the UK. We need to get planting rates north of 30,000 Ha /yr in next couple of years (currently just over 10k Ha).
