Threats should be mysterious when first met. So they now come unidentified. You can browse their exposition but not much else. Killing said threat reveals all (with a little notification). Considered levels of identification but it's tedious. The 1st date is what really matters

Some numbers for your tabs. And an awkward naming convention for fighter level and knockout status. My excuse is the cyberpunk theme, but it's honestly a very effective way to see when you've levelled up or died. Added a Revive item to test it so it's easier to level up now.

Added special abilities. Actually just a hidden status effect. It gives me a lot of flexibility - now we can steal or copy special abilities. Added levelling. Stats are now completely implicit - level and status are applied when the stat is fetched. Only current HP changes.

Fighting styles are in. Only Bully, Honorable, and Random for now. Also set up the clock. It tracks real time from the 1st time you visit the page. The clock will trigger events but I'd like to try backwards-F2P mechanics like rewards for not logging in for a day.

Most RPG weapons are basically status effects (eg: +damage). So I've decided that status effects are all you get. Your Strong buff is basically a rusty sword with 2 durability. But status effects could do other things as like have on-hit triggers that combo with other statuses.

Carousel

Having a player character as well as pets complicates things. So I did a big redesign for pets only. This feels a lot better to me. The underlying code is more consistent and you have complete party management.

Added code for pets. I plan to add fighting styles for fighters. So bullies target the lowest HP target, tanks draw aggro, etc. I also want a feature where you can go on dates with your pets, but it requires adding an interactive fiction library - we'll see...

Got items sorted for the shop and inventory tabs. Lots of button management. This is a cyberpunk themed game. That means I'll be switching to a Matrix green and black aesthetic later. Till then you've only got some exposition written in the voice of Ice-T

Ep 21 of JoJo's has a demonstration of Zeno's Paradox. Whilst I'm impressed and have been enjoying the season, it does kind of describe how the plot moves forwards.

I don't know how anyone can use unity anymore since the 2020 updates, how are you supposed to develop when reloading script assemblies takes minutes every time you run the editor, and changing one line of code is like a 5 minute stall? prototyping has become as slow as porting

The equipment system I had in mind is shoes and hats. This is where jumping wall to wall helps because you flip which side your shoes are on.

I love how stupid the premise of the Brave New World tv show is. Characters just straight faced saying shit like: "You've missed the last three orgies, some are even saying you're... monogamous. Here, take some drugs." It's like an Oglaf comic.

Lots of graphics wrangling and bug fixing recently. Found myself in a weird spot where I want Sonic-like acceleration for the character's walk. Lining oneself up for a jump wants to be slow - but you need to ease into a jog on longer walks.
