#VocationalEducation is the future of the national workforce, it is the basis on which economies are built twitter.com/ssmusoke/statu

Some people still think that vocational schools are for failures. They would rather pursue degrees that won't get them jobs. But I want to assure you that people who have gone through technical education cannot sleep hungry. -Tushabe Harriet. #SkillsForSuccess.

This is the kind of forward thinking and government wide approaches that need to be taking leadership on providing broad governance A good place to start is Department of Health Informatics (DHI) #eGov #DesignSystems #DataStandards

I will leave this here for et al... Keep up the good work you are doing #Uganda into the future!

The story of Wakanda is not that they had Vibranium, it's that they learnt how to process it and extract value from it before the world found out about it. If the world discovered it before they figured out how to mine it, you wouldn't have Wakanda, you'll have Congo.

#Wakanda - it is the Shuris, those who advance the science & knowledge that make all the difference In Uganda we have our local herbs, flora and fauna, practices - from eshabwe, to bark cloth making, odi, atapa Bringing those into the future is our way out of dependency

While all resources are available, we as humans were not designed to walk through the world & life as solo creatures We need a pack, our village, a commuity to walk with. This is the strength of the African social system that is fortunately still holding despite attacks on it

33. All the resources that you need to succeed in life, are already within you. Life is about removing what blocks our access to them so as to use them create the success we want. What you're searching for was placed in you by your creator, train yourself to reconnect with it.

Unfortunately beliefs cannot be transformed so easily, they are ingrained at a primal subconcious level - they are what we fall back to as a last resort Beliefs therefore take a long process of change, aka transformation in a supportive environment

31. Your beliefs about money are informed by your family home, the religious teachings you pay attention to, the friends you keep, and the country of birth and formative years. Like all beliefs, they can be transformed - even in minutes.

The "spirit" of prayer, fasting and religious acts is to seek guidance from higher powers for humans, aka balya mmere The journey is aimed to be transformative as it allows focus on us from within, thus opening our inner eyes to greater knowledge and understanding

29. Prayer, fasting, engaging in religious acts does not transform people. It is by renewing the mind that people are transformed.

Education by colonialists was designed to create a controllable dependent workforce - this is still true today, unfortunately the world has changed Our forebearers focused on vocational training, adding variety by sending their children to other families and taking in others

24. Our education system was intended to stifle our intuitiveness, curiosity and critical thinking. You are responsible for educating or RE-educating yourself.

#Scale for #Impact? Depth of learning? Can learning be speeded up? Do we just have to be more patient, provide support while letting time show the way? This is the way #STEM #Education #IAmFundi

Scale is extremely appealing to donors and large agencies, which is why a lot of nonprofits and social enterprises chase it relentlessly. More scale = more money = more scale. A few thoughts on scaling work with a focus on meaningful impact in social work. A thread. 🧵👇
