i wonder how much of the 'ladies fainting' trope in the 1700s was real. it would be like a weird hysterical thing right?

It’s was more like late 1800s? There was the “green disease” - women trying not to fart. Also corsets. Also being treated as frail and sickly does make you frail and sickly. Women are more likely to have low blood pressure, and ofc smart enough to faint to get out of something
