the trouble with adopting an "everything is status games" mentality is that there's this huge trough of incompetence where it makes you fixated on immediate, zero-sum, legible status games, which is low status

It also completely ignores Keith’s insight that lowering your own status elevates the other persons status by default and you can also easily play “looks like low status but it’s actually high status” (like Jeeves and Wooster) and ALSO it’s even more fun when played together
