I have been polyamorous for 10+ years, but my relationships often end up functionally monog because neither I nor my partner have the time/energy to hold multiple relationships. I've noticed what I miss most about being functionally poly is *metamours* (my partner's partners)

The style of poly I prefer most is sometimes called "kitchen-table poly" which basically means that everyone can sit down together for dinner at the same table and get along like a weird loving extended family. And metamour relationships are such a beautiful part of this.

Having another person who adores my partner in a similar way that I do, and being able to *gush about them* together is... a unique experience. I can't really compare it to anything else. And like, conspiring together to do nice things for the partner? It's so fun and wholesome!

Of course, this only works if the relationships feel loving and stable - if I'm afraid I will lose my partner to the other person, the anxiety overpowers everything else. Polyamory is A LOT of emotional work. (Hell, so is monogamy)

Anyway, I'm pretty sure all of this is just to say that I adore my partner and kind of wish I could gush about him to someone else who also understands what it's like to adore him.
@tasshinfogleman kind of fills that role in a hilarious way, but it's... not... the same

Also, I am loving (and finding hilarious) this new suddenly-Buddhist journey you're on. I gotta say I did not expect it
And you seem like you'd be a fun pseudo-metamour

Yeah the spiritual stuff is a trip eh? Unexpected for me too. I certainly got my wish to no longer be bored
