Many times people do not get into the public teaching end of practice. Esp on Twitter
. I know some very strong female practitioners. DM if you need intros. @YudronWangmo comes to mind on the Twitter side of things.

you're correct, however, that in general there's a dearth of women in the role of high profile/"famous" meditation teachers

Pema Chodron, Tara Brach, Joanna Macy are worth checking out, and I was going to recommend Joan Halifax too.

I recently stumbled across Zen priest
@GesshinClaire's book "Bow First, Ask Questions Later", which you may enjoy https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36373749-bow-first-ask-questions-later … Aside from that, most of the ones I'm familiar with have already been named. There's a sad dearth of female monastics.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I’ve known some really accomplished senior females practitioners/Yogini who didn’t bother trying to play guru, but have been teachers of mine. Maybe many of them have enough sense to not drink their own kool-aide.
