Chapman and the rationalists are absolutely talking across each other. The former talks about a historical tradition of rationalism that the latters participates in but which believes long yud invented (his probabilistic empiricism with a focus on language) ex nihilo
I like how they’re both writing things out long form for current generation because it’s just so annoying that no one has done their homework
