The most ass-backwards thing western society does is celebrate young (let's say under 20) people who are very politically engaged, who are big into causes, have founded charities and NGOs and such, when we should actually just k*ll them (within the confines of a Minecraft server)

Celebrating young "achievement" in general is a bad sign for any society. "Achievements" start after 40.

Alexander was famous because of how shockingly rare it was that he managed to achieve so much and yet die at 32. It wouldn't have been that special had he died at 62. Precisely because the conquest of Asia is NOT an endeavour for one's 20s. Exceptions, rule, you know how it goes.
