What you just said, *that* is my Sisyphian Struggle. Except I work with plants, improving people’s recognition of plants as life deserving respect and kinship.
Easier now in a intermittent lockdown world? I strongly came to appreciate caring for plants in that time. Also do you think trees-as-friends are a good entry point?

I support any flora! I happen to live in the midst of the North American Great Plains where grasses are vital! Trying to tell that story is my challenge. In places with more trees, I would say yes! But don’t forget all the other green ones out there!

Yay to grasses. Grass is pretty successful as a plant though and not super emotional? Just wondering what’s the best way to get people hooked?
