the LessWrong diaspora has a method/tool called "tabooing" words. It means taking a moment to fully describe what one means by a word before proceeding. It's excellent for not getting bogged down in arguments over semantics & is essential to have a logical/philosophical convo.

Ingroup signaling? I don’t love it, but I realize trying to abolish it is tilting at windmills. Granting that it may have some benefits, there’s not going to be a deficit of it if we stop using one insular term that has no real substance.
