So, I joined twitter recently. And I discovered that there seems to be a common practice of dunking on "the Rationalists". I didn't know about this.

Very thoughtful thread :) I like the idea that rationalism is foundational, because it’s usefully true and coherent. Agree most post-rats were rats. Also, if the peeps at CFAR get it then they get it! That’s great. Meaningness says we’re all doing meta rational stuff all the time

But, rationalists do like to be convinced of new things on their own strict terms. Their internal critique methods sound kinda harsh, so if you have something new and exciting to tell a rationalist you pretty much have to say “you’re wrong” to get their attention
