Over my years of freelancing and having multiple 6- or 9-month long breaks between contracts, I've noticed that at first people (myself and others) need a whole six months to chill out, veg out, play games, catch up with friends, health appointments, holidays and so on

After a few occasions this can be brought down to 3 months and options for longer term creative activity arise. Eventually, boredom with vegging out and video games comes along fairly quickly, and questions of meaningful activity change from being optional to being critical

This time it took just one week to get all my needs met, and become bored. I've been scouting around for meaningful activity for myself for 12 months now, identifying multiple blockers, moving round or through those using multiple techniques. Not finding anything.

Bummer :(. Maybe I don't quite understand the thread, but it's not quite clear to me what the thing is that you're not finding that's frustrating, if you'd be willing to share. Is it meaning? Relaxation?
