I guess I want to emphasise that “situations where it might be a risk” = leaving the house at any time and “reflect on the possibility” = remembering the things that have already happened to you. It’s lived in a way that seems like more than the hypothetical tone of your clause

There's a difference between associating fear and sex for these reasons, and find the association erotic, no?

In one way I agree with you yes, but in another way the pavlovian connection of fear=sex and sex=fear kinda just makes it erotic by association. Someone else made this point in another fork on this thread.
