I can't be the only sane person in every company I work for, this is a nightmare I need to get my name on some iMpReSsIvE open source project so that I can get an interview with a real company, jesus christ

my problem is that while I like programming enough to do it for a living (it pays way better than anything else I could do), I don't like programming enough to be bothered to do it in my spare time

maybe “do something big (oss) to get something little (a job)” is messing with your motivation maybe you should try “do something (relatively) little (write a soft) to get something big (a startup company)”

yeah, I mean I'll always have a problem with motivation wrt jobs, jobs are just hell I'll try to get out of the rat race but now I need a source of income within the next month and doing a startup is not that

NB I thought exactly that every time I was about to get a job: I'll just get a job real quick, to have financial security, and then start working on finding a way to get out but then I was too numbed from doing the job that I never seriously worked on getting out
