Funny you should mention that. I got a call from the Library of Congress when Vision, Instruction was published, saying we need identity info on you. And I said “fuck you” (not very politely).

And they said, well, you see, this is awkward, but it’s kind of a special case, because the David Chapman we have publishes, uh, well, gay pin-ups, and we know that can’t be you, but to officially say it isn’t we have to know who you are.

If I were quicker thinking on my feet, I would would have said “oh yes that’s me” but I’m not, so I just said “no fuck off” again (not in those words, but again I wasn’t particularly friendly about it, which I guess I sort of regret).

Decades later, friend who was a librarian looked me up in some LoC database, and it said “refused to identify self” in some free-text comment field. She’d never seen a record like that before. Looked around and couldn’t find any others. I score “medium agreeableness” on Big 5...
