I'm a contractor. I'm pretty sure I'm excellent at my advertised skills. I also happen to be good at project-managing type skills and obviously any team would try to exploit that "for free" by getting me to do organisey things on the side and I vigorously resist.

oh word, that's why I try not to volunteer too much above & beyond my assigned work. as they say: working too hard is just scabbing on yourself
