Megaliths in Europe mostly aren't behind fences, no visitors centre or tourist shop, so you can just walk up and touch something so ancient every shred of its meaning has been lost - just as a Roman soldier probably did when he saw it for the first time

Yeah I love it there too. Been there about 4 or 5 times. Us Southerners have to appreciate what we have in the south! Would love to see more henges further north.
