Right? Even if they get a few hits with this spray and pray approach, the hits they get are unlikely to be any good.
It’s like dick pics, it occasionally works. Which is enough. For example, when I’m ready for a new contract, I phone the top 5 spammers and even though they don’t actually cover my skills their colleague across the room does or whatever. It’s very quick to get the next role.

I sometimes do something similar when I’m traveling. If it’s the first day in a place and I don’t know where I want to eat, I just let one of the pushy cafe owners accost me and convince me to eat there if I’m hungry enough.
