I don't get why people think this is just complaining or disappointment. This is about having access to the same shows everyone else can watch.
Is there an example of anyone who does this well? If so I wonder how they do it? Subtitles and captions clashing does seem like a kinda hard problem, especially if they are encoded separately (eg distrubtor vs platform). I'm a front end web dev and interested.
Not that I can think of off the top of my head. I remember Netflix and Hulu also doing the same thing. I'm trying to think of the other services.
I'm fairly certain that the distributor handles the subtitles and the platform handles the captioning, which I think is part of the problem.
