I often feel bad because a lucky event got me to travel to incredible places I never would've, all expenses paid (hong kong, singapore, cayman, mexico) and is now over. Now, why not feel happy/grateful instead? What's the principled way to choose between them? Is there one?

maybe. i guess what i was saying is something like 'i used to default be sad now i seemingly default be grateful, wtf happened? whence the change? is there a reasonable way to see things that isn't just an emotional it-is-what-it-is?'
