Also not what you asked but seeing guys catcall girls really obnoxiously plus my gf at the time saying it is a frequent occurrence and replying with "they don't do it when you're there" as to why i never saw it blew my fucking mind
Having a girl who can point this out is awesome. The reason they don’t do it when men are around is also fucked up - it’s because of respect for *the man* because they respect that your gf is *your property* and will not fight you for it
It's also because when you're rude to a man there's always a risk of it escalating into violence.
(This is not something I think is a good thing, obviously, but it's the root of a lot of the differences in how men and women are treated by both men and women)
