That wasn’t really a shitpost. A broader range of homosocial relationships gives boys and men more flexibility in their relationships with women. Bundling sexual attraction with other modes of intimacy and affection leaves one needy and reliant on sexual partners for all of them.

It's probably quite hard for straight men to learn good models from queer men unfortunately given that straight men tend to be fairly unwelcome in queer spaces and also how much homophobia is baked in to mainstream masculinity.
