3) Only after such back and forth do we get to the sharing of ideas. Which made me wonder whether a space that focuses on idea sharing creates a feel of closeness by default. If we’re talking about our ideas on flow before I have your name, we must be closer than strangers

4) the lack of need to stay on topic for ideas also dampened the status games that arises in the traditional academic settings where ideas are discussed (conference, seminars). When people secretly try to outflank eachother by their superior view / knowledge on the topic

5) it felt incredibly collaborative since there was no right or wrong, just a lot of mutual creation based on the participants’ perspectives and experiences

Lastly and this is somewhat context specific to the UK where a strong anti-intellectual undercurrent is present in most conversation (a sentiment of not getting above our stations by thinking about big ideas a but that’s a longer tangent), the open discussion felt transgressive
