Maybe I should have said react appropriately to non-intuitive danger. Roads are extremely high risk and making a good decision about when to cross requires many factors and kids aren’t born with them. Eg self control (suppress the impulse to run)

I like that. Replace kids with adults and roads with life and I think many not-rationally-articulated or incorrectly-articulated behaviors make more sense.
