When did it change? (If it's not too personal.) What kind of part-time jobs did you do? I'm thinking a lot about what Venk said, how difficult it is for me to just sit and integrate knowledge for a long stretch of time and thinking about that kind of solution :)

I want to make an awesome graph of this. It changed when I had a late 20s crisis, made myself homeless for a year and went in search of new ideas. I found some, moved to London and became a developer. It took 3 years or so but now I earn £350/day.

You probably wrote about that but what ideas did you find?

Less wrong / rationalism... the parts that helped with earning more money relate to bets, risk aversion, probability. But also the beginning of leaving behind sjw identity and re-engaging with the world

What was the first part of sjw identity that you left behind?

It's was an all-at-once thing. My boyf challenged me to do the idealogical Turing test on the right wing and I passed, but it made me realise how sympathetic I could be to the "other side", that they weren't evil, just using different axioms. Also SJWs don't measure outcomes!

Everyone takes it for granted that equality training should be done everywhere and that will help fix things, but actually there's evidence to show it doesn't and might make it worse! I would never have known that from inside the bubble

I felt like a fool for being so blind. Although my intellectual honesty did me credit.

Yeah, if you were willing to do a turing ideological test it was a matter of time

I was pretty outraged and pulled faces.... but I'm also stubborn and always rise to a challenge... and it was only a matter of time yes haha
