there's a video on youtube from one of the ppl in east london who runs a pie mash and eels shop. he is very earnest.
I think the YouGov poll was mostly ironic. Eels certainly used to be big at one time, and they occasionally get mentioned in jokes, much like Morris dancing is, and you can technically still get them, but very few people in the UK under age 60 have actually eaten a jellied eel
