e.g. people's reactions to aphantasia started to make much more sense to me when I learned that there are people without an inner monologue, which is the weirdest thing to me.

There is a kind of person who doesn't engage much with culture/art, be it high or low brow, and so does not realise that much of our crafted words are quotes, appropriations and remixes of past-art words and phrases. Like aphantasia or lack of inner monologue, it blows my mind.
