      When I turned 18yo my Grandfather - a farmer - gifted me a small piece of land with 30 olive trees. He planted them years before - meticulously planning so that as I turned 18, his gift would be fruitful and I could produce my own oil. I think about this a lot.

      anyone thinking seriously about how to redesign dating? i think it's pretty clear that 1) modern dating is super broken and 2) finding people healthy long-term romantic relationships is one of the best things we could do for them so let's fix it already

          I feel one of the things that's also gone wrong is that we have this expectation that spaces should be provided for us to do the things we want to do. Like, we have a default expectation that someone else is _responsible_.
