      Seems like no one has been watching Joaquin Phoenixes other films in the last ten years otherwise they would not be so weirded out by The Joker haha. Phoenix has been slaying the dark art house genre for some time - don’t watch You Were Never Really Here !

      I have not seen The Joker yet, but I'm assuming it's just a remake of You Were Never Really Here except he doesn't care about kids

          Strangely I actually felt a deep love & compassion in YWNRH. I'm betting Joker is exploring the opposite - hate, fear & nihilism.

          Oh interesting, I felt that the characters compassion for kids (and his mother) was at best an accident and given even a slight shift he would just be outright evil character (although understandably so).
