if you're right, in 5 years time this will be an afterthought with nothing having come from it. if I'm right, in 5 years, there will be dozens of new companies, projects, non-profits, media companies, and political action groups reifying these values.

(by the way: the idea that companies might reify values that are specifically against the way in which companies operate is v funny, and, considering the greta thing, not too unlikely)

O: i wonder though, i'm not good with finances, but isn't the result of this either profit (attracting customers with ethical practices) or risking losses/losing for not-as-scrupulous competition?

I honestly think because it takes a certain level of cognitive development to think on a 60-100 year investment timescale and our civilisation has only just built in enough education and free time for a large percentage of such adults, and global warming now sits in that scale

oh yeah, there is that, i was expecting the global warming revival to last a couple months tops like the many times it did before, kinda odd to take it into consideration when pondering about long-term investments

Well pensions are 60 year investments. People do get it that 5% growth year on year for 40 years and then someone knifes you over a loaf of bread in a climate refugee war is not a great return
