It’s a new ongoing thing right now. Back in the 90s Duke Nukems physique was obviously a cartoonish joke but now men are on the receiving end of an onslaught from all sides of a very narrow idea of how a man should look (just like women have for decades) This impacts self esteem

We haven’t seen the results of it yet (it’s still gearing up) but it’s probably a factor in the incel movement - some men experiencing rage that women don’t consider them attractive. There’s an insecurity there and i think it’s in part due to body image
