When I first saw this reversal (pre-social media) I loved it. I still quite like it. One of the wider arguments is that very few people actually get raped (by strangers) so posting up advice like this makes the world seem more dangerous than it is, to women specifically.

In reality it is young men who suffer from most violent crime, and it's harmful to a) not protect men and b) make women feel scared all the time when they don't need to

the broad lesson is that most dangerous people are men and most aggressive acts committed by those people are committed against people they already know (but who don't yet know that they are dangerous)
