Well this particular thread is reversing all of the advice that is often given to women, especially at college, about how not to get raped. The reversal shows that the crime is the perpertrators fault, not the victim's, and also how ridiculous the advice is.

When I first saw this reversal (pre-social media) I loved it. I still quite like it. One of the wider arguments is that very few people actually get raped (by strangers) so posting up advice like this makes the world seem more dangerous than it is, to women specifically.
In reality it is young men who suffer from most violent crime, and it's harmful to a) not protect men and b) make women feel scared all the time when they don't need to

the broad lesson is that most dangerous people are men and most aggressive acts committed by those people are committed against people they already know (but who don't yet know that they are dangerous)

I had a friend who would get mugged a lot. I would try to give him advice about what I thought he was doing wrong. He would get pretty mad, since basically I was blaming him, but what am I supposed to say? I follow my own advice and I think it helps.
