Thanks for sharing Jessica. This might sound strange, and I don’t mean to gloss over all the bad parts of your experience, but... it’s kinda cool that you got to re-examine your beliefs from the ground up. An experience that ppl from more “normal” backgrounds don’t usually get.

thanks for this "I have an abiding deep suspicion of “knowledge” or “truth”, of people in “authority”. The study of how we know what we know will always fascinate me." I love finding others who are into this, and understand why it's interesting / all-consuming for some of us

and I forwarded this to my wife cause I think the advice for others section is very important. we're an interesting pair because, I'm quite good at quitting, and she's not. She's very loyal, and I am not. Two different perspectives on a similar phenomenon
