Are you replacing it with a different conception of the good life, or letting the idea of the good life go?
Finding it relaxing to ignore my culture’s idea of the good life - the “experiences” paradigm. That a life should have as many “experiences” as possible. Preferably capitalism-compatible “good” experiences of course. To mentally release from that drive is a relief.

Thinking about history’s radically different ones remind me to release it, but I’m not sure if I’m following another one, or building another one. I’m a bit suspicious of making one up, but it might be nice too maybe I should try it.
