I've thought twice about tweeting this publically, but I wrote it while I was kind of feverish and out of it this week, and I think it's worth sharing more widely http://files.howtolivewiki.com/.meditation_2015/towards%20a%20political%20economy%20of%20enlightenment.pdf … looking at the $ costs of enlightenement practice and what might/won't work to accelerate us.
Thank you for replying. Re-Reading the original doc link, I see there is little mention of enlightenment being good for something. But overall it reads as if it’s saying we could /should support more people to be enlightened.

I’m with
@leashless. Arguably there is no benefit to the individual. And considerable costs & risks I’d assign a non-zero probability that there’s benefits to •society• from small-r realized people (enlightened) but also really hard to suss out -
Also this podcast interview is fascinating & insightful Interviewee had such a strong yearning to practice that he wanted to ask a prison warden to lock him up (interviewee would pay for food) in solitary confinement so he’d have a place to practicehttps://www.guruviking.com/guru-viking-interviews-ep6-lorin-roche-phd/ …
