The whole point of the inquiry of the podcast is something like "I have no idea what the fuck is going on -- what do I even do with my life?!?" 2/

It feels icky when I meet people and they put me up on some kind of pedestal as if I know more than they do about wtf is happening in the world. If you listen to the podcast you know what I know. 3/

What interests and excites me is to meet other people within the inquiry, inside of the not knowing, and definitely _not_ to be seen as 'somebody who knows'. 4/

Not only do I not know what's going on, but it's also the antithesis of what the Emerge podcast is attempting to amplify -- a sense of togetherness WITHIN the buzzing confusion and unknowability of the Anthropocene. 5/

After getting feedback from folks I'm more aware of how I am creating this pattern. One part is feeling a desire to meet with others in shared generative inquiry, so that amplifies the disappointment when I encounter the aforementioned patter. 8/

And another is some kind of deep resentment/resistance to occupying a position of power and/or expertise, along with the attendant projections and responsibility. Probably more that I haven't yet seen, too. /9
