Twitter friends who do any kind of engineering hiring: When you’re screening entry level developer applicants, do you look at any type of portfolio? Also what do you consider to be a dev portfolio — GitHub, blog, personal site, social media, something else?

That's why examples of work enable people to skip the round where you present an example of work rather than it being a qualifier to be selected. When I was hiring we had almost as many women devs as men and we worked damn hard to build that

I would for sure not check GitHub etc if the candidate had a few years of work experience already, for that precise reason!
