I feel like it might be a weird semi-conscious self-sabotage which is half insecure, half “fight me”, and helps them say they tried Tinder and it didn’t work, so that they can keep the narrative they have of themselves.
Haha clearly I do in fact have a strong idea why something is something. Need a new phrase
