I ranted about how stupid and horrible musk-scents-for-men are to several women friends, who all said “uh... actually it’s really sexy.” I did not take the objectively correct course of action this evidence indicated, because I haz aspergs.
I agree it’s sexy. I seem out men’s shower gel for myself for this reason. But I think your “women friends” group has a strong selection bias :)
This was 30 years ago and reproduced from memory, so “all” may be an exaggeration, and even if accurate, n was probably ~3. I was just shocked that ANYONE thought the stuff was anything other than horrible.
In related news, @_awbery_ was highly excited when I bought the MEN’S VERSION of Aveda shampoo and planned to swipe it until I pointed out that it has exactly the same scent as the un-gender-marked=women’s version. It does come in a BLACK BOTTLE though!
