Some say people have an aversion to thinking for themselves, and they'd rather have somebody else make decisions for them. That's not the aversion. The aversion is making claims or decisions they then get punished for.
I read in an RD Laing book that a decision also commits you to a course of action or being a type of person. Before the decision, there is an infinite possibility of phase-space that is theoretically available, but a decision confirms a path or an identity. So people avoid.
