This the failure mode of the person who always plans, always invests in the future and takes too little time for the present (me). I noticed that “lazy” friends who rely on others to eg remind them that they are late actually get all kinds of spare brain cycles back
Another example: a friend who borrowed a lot of money from another friend while he was unemployed for a year. Sadly the lending friend died, but the strange outcome was that the borrower got £10,000 effectively for free.
